Independent seaside planning for families of every pace

Our purpose

A Guide for Real-Life Holidays

Family seaside breaks are rarely the glossy picture. There are wet socks, a forgotten bucket and a car journey that takes twice as long as planned. This guide is written with that reality in mind.

Why We Write

Most beach lists rank places by beauty or popularity. We think families get more from knowing what a place is like to spend a day in: how far it is from parking to sand, what happens at high tide, where you can shelter, and what there is nearby when plans change. That is the angle of every page here.

How We Stay Independent

  • We are not connected to any resort, tourist board, holiday park or booking platform.
  • We carry no advertising, sponsored content or affiliate links.
  • We describe lasting characteristics of places, not prices or opening times that change.
  • We point to official safety bodies such as the RNLI and the Met Office rather than offering our own guarantees.

What We Can't Do

We cannot tell you a beach will be safe on a given day, and we will never claim one is. Conditions change, facilities close and access paths erode. Always check local signs, lifeguard flags, tide tables and forecasts before you go.

Help Us Improve

If you have visited somewhere we mention and noticed something has changed, or you think another place deserves a mention, please tell us.
